THE RENOVATION
The current owners took this home down to the studs in 2014 while working with a carefully chosen architect and contractor to preserve the Historic character and details. Margaret Menter was hired as the architect given her extensive experience studying English Tudors in London. The hardware for the owner's office was carefully selected in Paris, and the designer kitchen is simply stunning with Calcatta marble slabs, large breakfast nook, inset cabinets, and luxury grade fixtures. The guest apartment with loft was built to match, pulling bricks from the landscaping to properly match the exterior walls of the original house. Every inch was touched with flawless execution.

THE HISTORY
The original house was designed and built in 1927 by notable architect Kirtland Cutter who is locally known as the architect for the Rainier Club in Downtown Seattle. One of the original homes in Broadmoor, 2045 Parkside Dr E was built for the Nordhoff Family, who was the founder of The Bon Marche. This home has strong entrepreneurial energy with a Latin crest on the front door that translates to "I think therefore I am." This house was built to a commercial level with roughly 3x the typical concrete thickness and settling less than 1/8" from end-to-end since originally constructed according to the structural engineer from the recent remodel.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Broadmoor is a private and fully gated golf community conveniently located in the Heart of Seattle with exceptional access to Bellevue. Home to some of the region's most notable homes, Broadmoor has maintained its World-class character thanks to a well-run HOA that includes architectural and landscape guidelines. HOA dues cover 24-hour security personnel who monitor all neighborhood access from a front and back gate.
